Independent Suspension – Independent suspension means that every wheel is suspended independently from the other wheels. This will require both axles to have CV joints. This is ideal for extreme off road go carts with transmissions and transfer cases for four wheel drive.
Swing Arm Suspension – This is for the rear only. This type of suspension requires that the engine, rear axle, rear wheels, and drive train be mounted on an independent platform then connected to the rest of the body on a hinge. Then, one or two shocks are mounted between the main body and the drive. This allows the drive platform to flex without interrupting drive chain or belt.
